Improving indoor location of mobile devices

Wireless localization systems through mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, robots, etc.) that are currently proposed for public environments (museums, shopping centers, etc.) exchange a lot of information with the fixed network access points located in the buildings. This is an increase in error and time of the location, which is worsened when the number of devices in a zone increases.

This article proposes a novel and efficient access protocol for mobile devices, based on the organization and simultaneity of wireless communications, which substantially reduces time and location error in environments with a high density of individuals.
