“Positive self-regard in executives and organizational outcomes: The case of core self-evaluations and future research directions”
Upper-echelons (UE) research is predicated on the premise that executives act on the basis of their personalized interpretations of the strategic situations they face, and that these interpretations are in part a function of executives’ personalities. To demonstrate the role of executive personalities in organizational outcomes, this line of research has shown a growing interest in personality characteristics broadly referred to as “positive self-regard.” Dr. Simsek will review this line of research and present the results from his studies and will examine the implications of CEO core-self evaluations for firm-level outcomes
