Excellent results obtained by ETSE-UV in MOTIVEM awards

The ceremony award of the MOTIVEM third edition awards was held on last 11 May, Wednesday. Best entrepreneurial idea in Universitat de València is awarded. The list includes 92 teams, of whom five belonged to ETSE, and two of them were recognised in the list of winners.

The winner project, Sanberry Cam, was awarded with 4.000 euros. It consists of a device that, through a photograph, is able to analise, evaluate and measure the pathologies status such as ulcers, burns, strabismus, cataract and uveitis, improving the tracking and monitoring of patients. It is a multidisciplinary team, Luis Miguel Gil, student of Electronic Engineering for  Telecommunications is included as one of its members.

Wallet Band, “one to rule them all”, achieved a place in the final and obtained an award of 1000 euros. It is a technology solution that provides the user standard and universal access to all kind of personal services through a single contactless bracelet. It gathers the usefulness of multiple RFID cards in a single device in a format that does not requiere any manipulation by the user. In other words, it contributes to eliminate technological barriers that prevent the access to ICT services to a substantial part of the population. The solution is based in the simple, cheap and available technology.  The team is composed by the students of Degree in Electronic Engineering for  Telecommunications: Rafa Tormo, Toni Cervelló, David Brotons and Rubén Úbeda.

The event, chaired by principal Esteban Morcillo, was attended by ETSE Faculty director Paula Marzal, who congratulated the school teams and stressed their entrepreneurial spirit and creative power, as well as the commercial approach and the sustainability of the proposed ideas from ETSE-UV.
