In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, in recognition of the role that women have developed and continue developing in the scientific and technologic community.

In this resolution, the organ of the United Nations where are represented all the Member States, approved a resolution in which justified the proclamation of this International Day and praised all the initiatives that support the female scientists and promote their access to education, the training and the investigation in the different fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

For this reason, the equality commission of the Burjassot-Paterna Campus took on Wednesday 8 a picture of all the female students and professor-researchers of the ETSE-UV at the entrance of the School under the motto “Girls also live science at University”.

We hope that the spread of the social networks help to make visible and create referents, especially in scientific-technical and engineering university degrees where the percentage of female students very between the 25% and the 5%.
