  • May 23rd, 2016

The XIII Bioinformatics Conferences have been celebrated in Valencia with a substantial presence of teachers and, most importantly, students in the Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, which indicates a great success of the recent graduates in this Master.

At the end of the conferences, prizes for the best oral presentation and best poster were awarded. And, happily, two students of the Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics were awarded.

Matías Marín Falcó won the award for the best oral presentation, under the title of “The pan.cancer pathological regulatory landscape”.

Best poster award was for José Miguel Juanes Tebar, with the work “PanelMaps: a web tool for detection and visualization of altered regions for targeted sequencing”.

Both works had the collaboration of Master’s Degree professors. In particular, professor Joaquín Dopazo intervened in both works, and professors Francisco García and Vicente Arnau (Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics director) intervened in the poster.

In the picture, on the left we can see Matías, on the right José Miguel and in the middle Vicente Arnau. The picture was taken in ETSE-UV where José Miguel works with a research contract and Matías is first-year students in the Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics.
