The Radiation Protection Area was born with the main aim of organising, advising and controlling the functioning of the University of Valencia’s radioactive facilities.

It has been authorised by the Nuclear Safety Council to act as a Radiation Protection Service, according to the Regulations about Health Protection against Ionising Radiations and the Regulations about Nuclear and Radioactive Facilities.

The Radiation Protection Area collaborates with the rest of areas at the Health and Safety and the Environment Service, relating to the identification and evaluation of risks deriving from using ionising radiations and waste management.
