ESCENA ERASMUS: “The invisible fair” The tour of the cultural programme “Small Europes” will be closed in Gandia. This is the fifth consecutive year in which Escena Erasmus-Universitat de València and the Culture Area of the Valencian Provincial Council make this event possible. The new spectacle reflects about the political, social and cultural situation affecting Europe.

MARIA ARNAL & MARCEL BAGÉS: “45 cerebros y 1 corazón”

A true musical revelation of 2016, Maria Arnal (voice) and Marcel Bagés (guitar) are publishing their first album debut: 45 cerebros y un corazón. After receiving many prizes, the artistic couple of the year keep up the transmission chain of popular music the best way they can: with their own songs incorporated to their rescue projects of field recordings, digitalised files and various music collections. This concert talks to us about what we remember but also about what others want us to forget.

MIREIA VIVES AND BORJA PENALBA: “Líneas en el cielo eléctrico”

Líneas en el cielo eléctrico is a concert of islands-song, a tribute to landscapes and people composing the universe of Mireia Vives and Borja Penalba, two young Valencian musicians carrying a long and important trajectory in many groups and styles. In this second joint work, they wanted to transmit different views and perspectives, without considerations, prejudices or tags and rallying around every text and melody with care and esteem.

MON ONCLE (Jacques Tati, 1958)

Jacques Tatischeff (Jacques Tati) is considered one of the big ones of the comedy. He was capable of laughing at himself and at the world when he accepted the role of Monsieur Hulot, a character with a gabardine, pipe and umbrella, both in rainy and sunny days. He made four movies interpreting Hulot. In Mon Oncle (1958), Tati entertains us with a urban story with a peculiar style characterised by the insinuations of silent films, because the few dialogues are not essential

Friday 21 MUSIC

PACO IBÁÑEZ: “En estos tiempos de ignominia”

An icon of the fight for truth and freedom, ambassador of poetry in the world, Paco Ibález sings his claiming classic songs in a concert that is a proposal of love, freedom and dignity, a symbol of resistance towards injustice, violence and horror. Wrapped in the voice and music of Paco Ibáñez, the words of the best poets in Spanish go through centuries and are still a light guiding these ignominy times in the whole world.

*All performances are free apart from Paco Ibáñez’s concert.
