Psychology
The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Valencia was created by the Royal Decree of 28 September 1983, Official State Gazette (BOE: 24-10-83), by transformation of the Section of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences. The current 5-year degree in Psychology is part of Social Sciences and is distributed in 5 academic years with a total of 302 credits.
It focuses on knowledge of psychological aspects and processes of individual and group actions of people, as well as relationships with others in various social situations. It provides instrumental knowledge such as research methods and techniques that enable intervention in personal and social processes.
In addition to research and teaching, the psychologist may work in the fields of health, social services, education, the workplace and organisations and any field in which knowledge of human behaviour can be useful. The psychologist may also work in the following: advising courts to determine the psychological situation of individuals; helping disaster victims; road safety; occupation health and safety; in companies determining the skills of each worker and developing marketing and motivation projects; as an advisor and rehabilitation technician; as a psychotherapist, as a clinical psychologist dealing with psychological disorders; among many other applications.
Speech Therapy
The Board of Governors at the University of Valencia approved the curriculum for the 3-year degree in Speech Therapy on 23 March, which was published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) No. 197 of August 2000.
This 3-year degree is part of Social Sciences and is distributed in 3 academic years with a total of 180 credits.
Its aim is to provide theoretical and practical training to successfully carry out prevention, assessment and intervention in speech disorders in both children and adults. With a 3-year degree in Speech Therapy you can work in diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and correction of speech disorders, speech and language.
Subjects taught include anatomy and physiology the organs of speech and hearing, as well as general neurology and language.
With this 3-year degree you can access the second cycle of 5-year degrees in Audiovisual Communication, Documentation, Humanities, Linguistics, Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, among others. a Junta de Govern de la Universitat de València, va aprobar en sessió de 23 de març el Pla d'Estudis de la Diplomatura de Logopèdia, que va ser publicat al BOE nº197 de 17 d'agost de 2000. Aquesta diplomatura pertany a l'àrea de Ciències Socials, té una distribució de 3 anys acadèmics i una càrrega lectiva global de 180 crèdits.
