To request CECT strains the following steps should be followed:

• New users: To make any request to the CECT, all users must be properly registered in the LIMS platform. To that aim, you must access the Platform and apply for registration as new user. Once you recieve access credentials (username and password), you can register all Collaborating Users (CU) who are going to request CECT services at your expense. Any problems or questions can be directed by e-mail to gestlims.cect@uv.es.

          Once registered on the platform, you must fill in the MTA (Material Transfer Agreement) and notify it through the LIMS CECT site (My MTAs option)

• Before placing any order, please check de availability of the strain in the CECT catalogue. CECT also offers Verified Strains and a selection of strains at a reduced fee for educational purposes and for quality controls
• Check the Restrictions on the distribution of strains, the Type of Presentation and the Fees. We would like to inform you that according to the Spanish legislation (RD 124/2017) users ordering Spanish strains (Country of Access in the strain datasheet) for research purposes should seek for an access permit to the competent authority. Using the strains for quality control, teaching or taxonomy does not require an access permit. For more information please contact the Spanish ABS National Focal Point maymerich@magrama.es.
• Orders from countries outside Europe need an export permit from the Spanish Ministry of Health. The fee for this procedure can be consulted here. In order to manage it correctly, the Consignee declaration must be sent together with the order (use the GR1 or GR2 document depending on the risk group of the requested strains) indicating the strains that are requested and their intended use.
• The following strains can not be shipped outside the EU ( CE nº 428/2009 )

Payment method: The payments must be carried out by bank transfer to the Spanish Type Culture Collection (CECT) at most within 30 days after receiving the invoice.

The CECT will not be responsible for any customs costs or the payment of taxes and/or tariffs that may apply in the country of destination.
