Academic, scientific or professional interest: Catalan is the own, historical and co-official language of the Valencian Community. Its Statute of Autonomy establishes its name as ‘Valencian’ in its sixth article, which recognises the citizens’ right to be taught the Valencian language and to be taught in the Valencian language, guarantees its normal and official use and the adoption of measures to ensure its knowledge and gives an special protection and respect for its recovery.
In this sense, the educational system of the Valencian Community ensures an education in the knowledge and cultural and communication skills of this language and its literature. This Master’s degree offers advanced and specialised training to the graduates in Catalan Philology who want to focus their professional activity on teaching within a multilingual and multicultural context.
