PhD programme linked to this Master’s programme: Psychology of Education-Human DevelopmentMulticult. Contexts

Academic, scientific or professional interest: Advocated by various national and international bodies, Human Development and Education are important and necessary areas not only because we need more professionals to work with people of all ages, but also because we need more trained researchers who can explore key issues in both development and education, and in different multicultural contexts. Specifically, the study of standardised development aspects, and of problems of development and better understanding of the educational processes, the personal, familiar, social, environmental and cultural factors that promote a better personal development and quality of life, are among others, crucial aspects that require a greater and better quality research effort. Just like the priority to exchange experiences and optimal practices, researchers, research results and data involving a solid empirical basis in support of the development of policies and programmes, the institution of projects and the dissemination of information. Human Development and Education are important and necessary areas where more professionals are needed to work with people of all ages. Also because more trained researchers are needed to explore key issues in both the development and education, and in different multicultural contexts.
