There he joined to Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), working in the investigating and publishing sectors.

In 2002, during the Israelite harassment in the city of Rama-la Darwish received the visit from a delegation of the International Parliament of Writers, presided by Russell bakns and made of, among other, by the Nobel Prizes Jose Saramago and Wole Soyinka. His testimony as a lucid victim of the current conflicts has been collected by Jean-Luc Godard in the film Notre Musique (2004).
