>>ANTIMILITARIST ON-LINE: SOS!

Dear friends, dear readers,

we are sorry for delay with the Antimilitarist On-line No 7 electronic bulletin. At the same time we have to break you sad news - after this issue we will have to interrupt the English edition of Antimilitarist On-line. The reason is simple: lack of financing. Translation in English of each issue of Antimilitarist On-line costs us about 50$, that is 100$ a month. At present the Antimilitarist Radical Association has no money for it.

We shall do everything possible to recommence the edition of Antimilitarist On-line as soon as we have necessary financing, in order to inform our readers - members and adherents form other countries - about the activity carried out by Russian antimilitarists. However, we do not know when it will be possible. We are sure of one thing - it will happen if you, our readers, take up the call of help.

Please, send you contributions for Antimilitarist On-line to our bank accounts (please, inform us about you contribution by e-mail mailto:ara@glasnet.ru):

>>THE COURT OF NARO-FOMINSK DECIDED NOT TO HURRY UP

Naro-Fominsk (Moscow region), June 5. The first session of the City Court of Naro-Fominsk for the examination of the case of Dmitrii Perednja, a member of the ARA and of the Radical Party, accused of having violated Article 328.1 of the Russian Criminal Code ("evading the military service") finished with the decision to remit the case for further examination. Nobody knows when the Court will examine it next time. One thing is absolutely clear: the judge did not want either to acquit the conscientious objector, in conformity with the Constitution, or to condemn him.

>>DEATH OF GENERAL ROKHLIN: TRAGIC AND ABSURD AS HIS BRIEF POLITICAL CAREER

Moscow, June 3. "Death of General Rokhlin - tragic and absurd, as his brief political career. We, liberals and antimilitarists, were convinced opponents of the rival general and demanded Rokhlin to be judged for appeals to a military revolt against the constitutional order. Today we mourn for him and present our sincere condolences to his family, his friend, his fellows and colleagues. Rest with peace, Lev Jakovlevich".

>>ALEKSEI BYKOV, AN ACCUSED CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTOR, REJECTS THE AMNESTY

Moscow, June 8. Aleksei Bykov, a member of the Transnational Radical Party and of the ARA, conscientious objector, accused of "evading the military service", rejected the proposal of the judge of the Intermunicipal Court Golovinskii of Moscow Raisa Sevost'janova to close his criminal case for amnesty. In his declaration Bykov explains the reasons of his decision: "it is my conviction that in essence the amnesty is a fine gesture of the state that pardons a person guilty of having committed a crime. I consider myself innocent and will fight for the acquittal of the Court. By accepting the amnesty in fact I would confess my guilt. Today I, as a citizen of Russia, have to defend the Russian Constitution. I believe in the fairness of the Court and that it will respect the Constitution".
