Concordance: software for advanced concordancing and Web Concordances
Licensing
Concordance is fully copyrighted commercial software and is not in the public domain nor freeware.

The unregistered version is freely available for download.  You may try it out for personal evaluation only for 30 days, after which it will cease to work unless you register.  The unregistered version is fully functional, but adds 'Unregistered' messages to the files you create with it.  You may not distribute or publish materials which you make with the unregistered version, nor may you put them on the Web. You may not use the unregistered version as part of an educational course, either as teacher or as student, nor make it available to others.  You are bound by further licence terms and conditions in the program's help file: please read them carefully.

If more than one person will be using the program at the same time, you must register a copy for each of them. If you want to install the program on more than one computer, you must buy additional copies. This applies even if you want to use one copy at work and another at home. Prices for additional copies are low.

How to obtain the software
First download and install the unregistered version.  Then order and pay for your registration. Links for both are below.

Receiving your registration by E-mail
When I receive your order and payment, I will send you your registration by e-mail as soon as possible, together with instructions for entering it in the program.  Please ensure you include a valid e-mail address with your order.  Experience shows that around 10 per cent of people give incorrect e-mail addresses, so please check yours very carefully.

 Installation

After a successful installation, you can delete the temporary folder where you unzipped the distribution archive.

System requirements
The software is for Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95/98 only. There is no version available for Windows 3.1.

It will be fully supported on Windows 2000 as soon as possible, but has not been tested there yet.

Mac users: There is no version for the Mac, but plenty of users have reported that the program runs on a Mac using a PC emulator, though this may be slow.

The minimum amount of RAM required will depend on the configuration of your system. As with Windows in general, the more RAM, the better it will work. 32MB might be regarded as a sensible minimum.

The software uses around 4MB of disk space when installed. Making concordances to large texts can use a lot of disk space!

All program development is done on Windows NT and some functions may work differently under Windows 95/98.

Zip Files
The software is supplied in a ZIP file. To unzip the file, you need a program such as the following:

    WinZip (a Windows program); or
PKUNZIP (a program which runs from the MS-DOS Command Prompt).

Both are available on many FTP and download sites.
WinZip® from Nico Mak Computing, Inc. is often included on CD-ROMs with computing magazines. Or go to WinZip's home page.
PKUNZIP is part of PKZIP 2.04g from PKWARE, Inc. Look for the file PKZ204G.EXE   or go to PKWARE's home page
