A CONFERENCE ON WOMEN WRITERS OF THE SPANISH GOLDEN AGE AND LATIN AMERICAN COLONIAL PERIOD

to be held on October 10-12, 1996 at Texas Tech University. Lubbock. Texas.

Invited Speakers:

Teresa Scott Soufas. Tulane University
Alison Weber. University of Virginia


In addition to affording a venue for sharing research, the conference will attempt to address the following concerns:

--the recovery and publication of women's texts
--the incorporation of these writers into the canon
--the revision/ing of Spanish literary history
--the promotion of the works beyond Hispanism.

One-page abstracts for 20-minuts papers and proposals for panels and special sessions should be submitted by May 1, 1996, to:
