Welcome to the LINEEX website

LINEEX is the Laboratory for Research in Experimental Economics. LINEEX is a research facility of ERICES and a research center of the University of Valencia. Since December 2009 LINEEX hosts the EBEN. We are located at the Building of Research Institutes of the University of Valencia. Since 1998 LINEEX is a venue for bringing together faculty and graduate students on the fields of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, having developed several research projects on such fields during these years.

In September 2009 the laboratory has been moved into its new location. The LINEEX consists of a main room with a 8x8 matrix of workstations (the largest in Europe) and a mobile laboratory of 12 laptops, that allow us to run field experiments. By coordinating the aforementioned, we have a set of servers which allow us to run experiments in all the available technologies: z-Tree, RatImage, Java, and more. For that task we count with a technical staff, composed mainly by computer engineers, in charged of programming such experiments.

Since LINEEX was created, it has been opened to collaboration with researchers from other institutions, and several researchers in Economics, Psychology, Business and Political Science from all over the world have developed their research in our lab. Among many others, Steve Rassenti, Gary Charness, Marilynn Brewer, Rachel Croson, David Cooper, Rick Wilson, Catherine Eckel, Monica Capra, Arno Riedl, Randolph Sloof, and Reinhard Selten have run experiments here.

Our researchers receive grants from the European Union, the National Science Foundation of the USA, the Spanish Ministry of Science (Plan I+D+i), the Prometeo Research Excellence Program and the Junta de Andalucía.
