Biography
·
I was born the 19th April 1965 in Alcoy, a city
in the province
of Alicante. I did my
primary and secondary school there, and then moved to Valencia. I
took a degree in Economics at the University of Valencia (1988) receiving a special
award.

In October'88, I joined the
Department of Economic Analysis as assistant professor and in September'91 I
went to Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, to take graduate courses
in quantitative economics. One year after I obtained a Master of Arts in
Industrial Organization from the Université catholique de Louvain. Under the auspices of the European
Doctoral Programme (EDP) I spent an advanced year at DELTA (Département et
Laboratoire D'Économie Théorique et Apliquée) under the supervision of
professor Roger Guesnerie and held a grant from Colegio de España de Paris and
Fundación Banco Exterior. Finally, I went back to CORE to finish my Ph. D. in
Quantitative Economics, in July 1995. My supervisor was professor Pierre Dehez.

I worked for the Université
catholique de Louvain
through a research assistant contract funded by the European Commission under
the Human Capital and Mobility Programme. In September'95, I re-joined the
Department of Economic Analysis at the University of Valencia
as assistant professor and since November'99 I am Profesor Titular de
Universidad.
My Family

wife Elena and myself have two daughters (Mar and Emma)
