University of Valencia, Faculty of Chemistry, Physical Chemistry Department Avda. Dr. Moliner, 50 C.P. 46100 Burjassot Valencia The researchers in this group examine the physics, chemistry and biochemistry of the problem over large length scales and in the full biological context of biointeractions. Researchers Research Group SIGMO Signal & Modelling Rosa García-Lopera is professor at the Physical Chemistry Department in the University of Valencia  (Spain) since 1988. B.Sc. in Chemistry (1985). M. Sc. Thesis (1986). Ph.D. in Chemistry (1992) devoted to  solution properties of polyelectrolytes. She stayed as postdoctoral fellow at the Imperial College of London  in 1994.  Her research activity is mainly centered in the field of Polymers and Macromolecules. More specifically,  thermodynamics of ternary polymer systems; Polymer-polymer specific interactions; Solution properties of  polymers, polyelectrolytes and ionomers; Secondary mechanisms in size-exclusion chromatography;  Macromolecules in organized media; Interactions between nanoparticles and thermoplastics; and  Development of polymeric membranes for fuel cells.   She has occupied different positions at the university, as Secretary of the Chemistry Faculty (2002-2009)  and Secretary of the Physical Chemistry Department (2012-present).  Received his degree in Chemistry by University of Valencia (UVEG, Spain) in 1999. In 2004 he finished his  PhD. in Physical Chemistry and the subject of his thesis was in physical chemistry exploring aspects of  electrochemical kinetics. This one was awarded with the Extraordinary Prize by the University of Valencia.   From 2004 to 2007 he did his pos-doctorate in electrochemistry at UPR 15 CNRS (Paris, France) in the  Université Pierre et Marie Curie. Then, he fellowed two-year post-doctoral contract as doctor researcher at  the UVEG through the program "Estancias de Doctores en Centros de Investigación de Excelencia". Also,  he had a post-doctoral contract as doctor researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de València through the  program "Ramon y Cajal". Currently, Dr. Gimenez-Romero is lecturer at University of Valencia in the  Physical Chemistry Department.  ResearchGate member e-mail: giroda@uv.es  e-mail: rosa.garcia@uv.es  Iolanda Porcar Boix is professor at the Physical Chemistry Department in the University of Valencia  (Spain) since 2010. B.Sc. in Biology (Biochemistry) (1990). M. Sc. Thesis (1993). Ph.D. in Chemistry  (Physical Chemistry) (1995) devoted to the behaviour of polyelectrolytes in presence of phospholipid  bilayers. She stayed at École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles (ESPCI) of Paris from  1997 to 2000, first granted by Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia of Spain and then by the European Marie  Curie Research Fellowship Program. She also had a postdoctoral contract as doctor researcher at the  Universitat de València through the program "Ramon y Cajal".  Her research activity is mainly centered in the field of Polymers and Macromolecules. More specifically,  Characterization of interactions between liposomes and polyelectrolytes, peptides or drugs; Solution  properties of polyelectrolytes; Secondary mechanisms in size-exclusion chromatography; Thermodynamics  of ternary polymer systems; Adsorption of globular proteins onto hydrophobically modified polymers;  Characterization of protein / photostimulable polymer systems and Stabilization of emulsions by  associative polymers, and photostimulable polymers.  e-mail: Yolanda.Porcar@uv.es
