On 29 November the online conference on communal land management took place, organised by Agri-Food Cooperatives of Andalusia and the Andalusian government in collaboration with the Chair of Agri-food Cooperatives.

Head of the Chair for Agri-food Cooperatives and Full University Professor Maria Pilar Alguacil Marí participated in the Conference on “Communal land management” last 29 November by giving a lecture on the physical aspects of the adoption of communal land management.

This conference was developed within the framework of the project for “Promotion of communal management of farms by cooperatives as a solution to the lack of generational replacement” of Agri-Food Cooperatives of Andalusia.

The implementation of communal management in different cooperatives has a visible economic impact, as it converts farms that were previously unviable, due to their size, structure or management, into viable ones. It also represents social progress, as it provides an enticing opportunity to incorporate young people into agriculture and livestock farming to enable the generational changeover of farms, as well as combating the abandonment of rural farms, thus ensuring employment and guaranteeing the productive capacity of the cooperatives and therefore the technological, economic and human resources.
