UV Chair of Agri-Food Cooperatives has celebrated another seminar for students about cooperativism

UV Chair of Agri-Food Cooperatives celebrated a new seminar for students on 10 April 2025 at the Ascensión Xirivella Hall of the Faculty of Law of Universitat de València.

The seminar was announced through posters and social media.

Organised by UV Chair of Agri-Food Cooperatives and Spanish Agri-Food Cooperatives, in collaboration with Universitat de València, the Faculty of Law and the Ministry of Education, Universities and Work of Generalitat Valenciana.
The Chair aims to disseminate educational content to students with these seminars with conferences by different experts that show and analyse the current circunstances and studies about agri-food cooperatives.

The seminar began with full-time professor in Finance Law Pilar Alguacil, of Universitat de València and Head of the Chair. She presented her session 'Què és una cooperativa agroalimentària' ('What is an Agri-Food Cooperative?') to give context and introduction of the topic, explaining the basics like the differences between a cooperative and a company.

Next, Professor of Applied Economy Antonia Sajardo, of Universitat de València, presented the session 'Importancia de las cooperativas agroalimentarias en España' ('The importance of agri-food cooperatives in Span'). Sajardo showcased the interesting data regarding cooperatives. Some of them are bills, internationalisation percentages or exporting rankings.

Closing, Busiess Management Dr. Andrea Rey, of Universitat de València, lead her interactive activity on Social Economy. Te conference was moderated by member of the Chair and Law Dr. Teresa Puchol Tur.
