The 3rd training session for coaches of the Basketball Chair with the University of Valencia and the support of Bankia arrived tThursday, December 17 at l’Alqueria del Basket. An experienced speaker like David Cárdenas was in charge of contributing his knowledge to a total of 118 coaches, 82 in person and 36 online.

In this year of novelties in which the training days have the certification of the University of Valencia, in addition to being valid for the hours of the Basketball Federation of the Valencian Community, the coaches also have the option of following them online. In addition to coaches from Valencia, Castellón and Alicante, people from Seville, Oviedo, Granada and Ponferrada followed the conference.
Cárdenas has extensive experience in teaching related to basketball to which he dedicates much of his life right now. Therefore, for him it’s of special joy that Valencia Basket gives so much importance to the training of coaches, having integrated it into the Basketball Chair: “It seems to me a wonderful idea, it has captivated me from the moment Andreu Casadevall told me about it and for me it is a pride to be able to participate”.
Reflecting on the training of coaches, Cárdenas explained that “the evolution of basketball in our country has been a consequence of having improved the training of sports technicians. In the last 25 years there has been a substantial change in our sport as a result of the fact that coaches have had more and more access to information through the internet that is much easier, but also because training activities have been organized that they have allowed the technicians to have this process of permanent updating. I believe in it a lot because I’m a teacher by vocation”.
