Simplification of consonant clusters. Listen to don’t pronounced without the /t/ (example 2), English pronounced without a /g/ sound (example 3) and doctor without a /k/ sound (example 6).

Consonants. The sounds in words like the, this, that, these, those are pronounced with something like a /d/ sound. The pronunciation of th is /t/ as in Jamaican as in the last example.

Vowels. Strong vowels are normally found instead of the schwa sound as syllable length does not depend as much on whether the syllable is stressed or not.
