4. Editing

This is an essential part of the subtitling process. Technical and linguistic corrections need to be made in order to guarantee the final quality of the product, since the subtitles must follow the conventions of the target language. Therefore, given that syntactic constraints of language differ, you will need to separate the subtitles differently in a way more appropriate to the target language.

After the subtitles have been transcribed, adapted and spotted, produce the subtitles file (.srt) containing the TC-in and TC-out and the text in each subtitle.

Upload the subtitles file and screen the video with completed subtitles to check for any errors overlooked during the previous stages. Adjust TC-in or TC-out if necessary.
