This project aims to contribute to the understanding of gender relations in the ancient Maya population and their present-day descendants. It employs innovative interdisciplinary, holistic and participatory approaches to highlight the important role of Maya women in social, cultural, economic and political processes that continue to shape memory, identity and community development.
