1. The average grade will be assessed in the subjects of the degree the programme is accessed. The average rating is calculated with the usual convention: 1: pass (C); 2: notable (B); 3: sobresaliente (A), 4: matrícula de honor (with honours); weighting the grades by the number of credits of the assessed subject. If the file contains a final grade (e.g., due to a final exam) this grade will be taken. In different grading systems to the Spanish, an ordinal correspondence will be searched. This section will count up to 4 points.


Adaptation of the previous studies to the Doctoral Programme. It will grade 0, 1 or 2, depending on the importance of the subjects of evolutionary biology or biodiversity in previous studies of the candidate.


2. Other official or equivalent degrees in foreign educational systems. Degrees relevant for the programme will be graded, up to 1 point maximum for the total of the degrees.


3. Scientific publications. Candidate’s publications relevant for the programme will be graded, up to 1 point maximum for the total of the publications.


4. Motivation letter written in English by the applicants, who also will be interviewed by the Academic Committee of the programme. (In the interview the authorship and sincerity of the required letter of motivation will be verified). Up to 1 point.
