On 3 March the exhibition 'Lucio del Valle (1815-1874). Ingeniería y fotografía' ['Lucio del Valle (1815-1874) Engineering and Photography'], organised by the Civil Engineering School of Madrid, the Juanelo Turriano Foundation and the Demetrio Ribes Chair, was inaugurated in the Sala de las Arquerías of the Ministerio de Fomento.
The exhibition, which is part of the programme of the 'Semana de la Ingeniería de Caminos en Madrid 2015' (Madrid Civil Engineering Week 2015), compiles some of the most interesting acts of the professional career of Lucio del Valle, responsible for some important works of that time such as the Elisabeth II canal and the Madrid-Valencia road or the futurist Delta del Ebro lighthouses.
The catalogue, published by the Ministerio de Fomento, is distributed in seven chapters about the transversal perspective of life and the work of Lucio del Valle. These texts are the work of great experts on the matter like Fernando Sáenz, Cesar Díaz-Aguado, Justo Borrajo, Rosario Martínez, Pedro Navascués, Alfonso Luján and Inmaculada Aguilar.
The exhibition will remain open until 20 March 2015 at the Sala de las Arquerías of the Ministerio de Fomento (Paseo Castellana 67, Madrid).
