For the applicants that have undertaken studies in University Master’s degrees different to the identified as appropriate profile, and even in different Doctoral Programmes (with DEA -a tertiary education’s degree- or Research Proficiency), but in any case always related to the Programme, the Academic Committee of the Programme will decide over their access and will consider the suitability of exceeding a maximum of 20 credits in the framework of the UVEG Master’s degree , that complement the appropriate prior training of the applicant into the Programme. This way different abilities related to the tasks and responsibilities about human parasitic diseases are acquired: updated practical preparation and theoretical training from health professionals to carry out works, functions and charges of all kind in the broad field of the fight, control, diagnosis, diffusion, teaching and study of the parasitic diseases in the whole world. However, the complementarity modules have different content and duration:
MODULE 1: of 15 ECTS about Human Protozoosis (Core of theoretical practical character. Contents: Generality of parasitic diseases, Amoebas, Flagellates and Ciliates of Digestive and Urogenital Systems, Diseases caused by hemotissular flagellates: Enf. Chagas, Leishmaniosis, Enf. Sleep, Malaria or Paludism, Molecular Topology in design of Antiparasitic and insecticides, opportunistic Protozoosis, Coccidiosis).
MODULE 2: of 12ECTS about Helminthiasis and Medical Ontomology (Core of character: Theoretical practical. Contents: Geohelminthiasis and Ageohelminthiasis, vector-borne or indirect Nematodiases, human Trematodiasis, Schistosomosis, Fasciolosis, human Cestodiasis, Experimental Models in Medical Trematodiasis, Arachnology and entomology, parasitic Dipterology).
MODULE 3: of 13 ECTS about Epidemiology and Parasitic Diseases Diagnosis (Core of character: Theoretical practical. Contents: Parasitic Diseases Aetiological Diagnosis, Immonology and Immunological Diagnosis
Parasitic Diseases, Molecural Parasitology, Parasitic Diseases Epidemiological Geography, Parasitic Coprology, and Parasitic Diseases Epidemiology).
MODULE 4: of 6 ECTS about Master’s Degree Final Project (Core of Content: Master's Degree Final Project).
MODULE 5: of 14 ECTS about Research Work (Optional of Content: Research Work).
MODULE 6: of 14 ECTS about Research Work (Optional of Content: Work Placement).
Assessment System is carried out: Modules 1, 2 and 3: Written test (90%), CROSS-DISCIPLINARY COURSES (10%); Research Work and Work Placement: Elaboration of written report; and Master’s Degree Final Project: Elaboration of written report, exposure and defence before a tribunal formed by 3 Master’s professors.
