Alicia Asín will host the Girls4STEM Professional special #Masterclasses Talk on 27th April.

Alicia Asín, computer engineer and expert in Artificial Intelligence, IoT and Big Data, as well as co-founder and CEO of Libelium, is in charge of hosting the special lecture organised by Girls4STEM, a project dependent on the Universitat de València. 

This talk will be held on Wednesday 27th April at 5:30 p.m. and is organised together with the #Masterclasses of the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV) on the occasion of the International Girls in ICT Day. The lecture will be held face-to-face in front of the school cafeteria and attendees (prior registration) will be able to enjoy a free drink. For those unable to attend in person, the session will be streamed live on the Girls4STEM YouTube channel. Registration can be done online.

This is a free face-to-face (and virtual) talk aimed at university students, teachers from different educational levels and the general public. The aim of the Girls4STEM Professional Talks is to raise awareness of the fundamental role that women play in the development of science and technology, eliminate prejudices and stereotypes about STEM degrees and inspire new generations to study them. 

The four STEM experts who will speak on this occasion are:

•    Tamara Carrillo. She holds a degree in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat de València, as well as a Master’s Degree in Services and Web Applications Engineering from the ETSE-UV. She currently works as a Operations and Product Manager and is responsible for the Engineering, Design and Marketing Leads at Onestic.
•    Andrea Aineto. She graduated in Multimedia Engineering from the Universitat de València, with a passion for programming and a love for innovation. She currently works as a Front-end Developer at the company HANNUN
•    Laura Monferrer. She isa Telecommunications Engineer and co-founder of Aiverse Tech. She currently works at Vodafone as a Specialist Business Analyst. She has an extensive professional career in the telecommunications industry. She is an expert in obtaining results and project management.
•    Marta Izquierdo. She holds a PhD in Chemical, Environmental and Process Engineering from the Universitat de València and has been a professor at the ETSE-UV since 2012. She carries out her research activity in the Environmental Engineering Group in the development of sustainable technologies for the treatment and/or recovery of industrial wastewater, among other topics.

This Girls4STEM Professional talk is part of the activities organised by Girls4STEM from the ETSE-UV, the Office of the Vice-Principal for Equality, Diversity and Inclusive Policies, the Equality Unit and the Office of the Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer of the Universitat de València. It also has the support of the Valencian Government and funding from the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT). 

The main objective of the Girls4STEM project is to promote vocations in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas among the general publich and, in particular, among girls.  More information on the project's objectives and activities can be found on its website and social networks:
