The Chair for Digital Gender Gap, of the Universitat de València and the Valencian Department for Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, has promoted a series of activities to reduce the differences in access, training and employment in relation to the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) between men and women.

These activities will be presented on Friday 11 November, from 11:00 a.m., at ADEIT-University Business Foundation UV. The conference can be watched live from the ADEIT space, or by streaming from the Chair’s YouTube channel.

The inaugural talk will be given by Núria Vergés Bosch, professor at the University of Barcelona and Director-General of Care, Time Organisation and Work Equity of the Catalan Government, who will share with the audience her research on the relationship between gender and the information society.

The director of the GVA-UV Chair for Digital Gender Gap, Anabel Forte, will present the project of animations and courses with which the Chair aims to help reduce the digital gap between men and women in the Valencian Community. The animations have been created by illustrator Cirenia Arias Baldrich to highlight the gender digital divide in everyday situations.

This will be followed by a presentation of the two digital courses, developed by journalists and gender equality activists Pilar Almenar Vara andLaura Bellver Carsí.

This conference is part of the activities organised by the Chair for Digital Gender Gap (UV-GVA), signed between the Universitat de València and the Valencian Government, within the Directorate General for the Fight against the Digital Divide under the Valencian Department for Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism and, as such, is funded by it.

Within the Universitat de València, the Chair is supported by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer, the Office of the Vice-Principal for Equality, Diversity and Inclusive Policies and the Equality Unit.
