Oscar Barberà (DIGIPOL) co-organiser of the workshop "Beyond Election Campaigns: Political Parties and Use of Digitalization in Daily Politics" together with Professors Sergiu Gherghina (University of Glasgow) and Marco Lisi (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) at the ECPR 2023 Joint Sessions held in Toulouse (France) on 25-28 April 2023.
The workshop has counted with the participation of 12 papers with attendees from different professional categories and universities from UK, Spain, France, Italy, Romania or Estonia. The full programme of the event can be consulted at this link.
Juan Rodríguez Teruel and Oscar Barberà from the University of Valencia presented the paper Deliberation, Plebiscitarianism and Representation: the trilemma of party democratic innovations. Ramón Villaplana (ESPOL, UCL) and Adrián Megías (UMU) also presented with Oscar Barberà the paper Participation in internal party referenda: the Spanish case.
A large part of the workshop papers are expected to be published in a Special Issue in a leading international journal.
