About me

CarlosDomenech

I am Carlos Domenech, a postdoctoral researcher in Earth Observation at the Institute for Space Sciences in the Free University of Berlin (FUB), Berlin, Germany. My main scientific expertise is on the fields of atmospheric physics and the development of procedures for conversion of broad-band radiance measurements into radiative flux densities.

I received the MSc degree in Environmental Physics in 2005, and the PhD degree with European Award in Environmental Physics in 2008, from the University of Valencia (UVEG), Valencia, Spain. My PhD Thesis was on the subject of the use of synthetic angular models for top-of-atmosphere (TOA) flux retrievals of the multi-angular Earth Clouds, Aerosols and Radiation Explorer (EarthCARE) Broad-Band Radiometer (BBR).

I held a position as Research Fellow with the Mission Science Division, European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC), European Space Agency (ESA), Noordwijk, The Netherlands, between 2008 and 2010. During my tenure with ESA, my research activity was focused on the development of EarthCARE L2 algorithms. Since August 2010, I am with the Institute for Space Sciences. I am currently involved in atmospheric radiative flux-retrieval studies and Earth radiation budget (ERB) analysis.
