SHOPPING IN VALENCIA
Shopping malls
In Valencia you can find many shopping malls in different areas of the city where you can buy all that you need and with different services near. These shopping malls can be:
- Nuevo Centro: is located in the area of Campanar on the nord of the river. This shopping mall is a large place where you can find a lot of clothes shops like Zara, Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, other kinds of electronics shops, etc, also you can find El Corte Inglés and a lot of kinds of bars and restaurants inside and outside the building. These shops are located in different floors with a supermarket and there is a parking where you can park your car. This building has a very simple construction and don’t have any kind of design.
- El Saler: is located in Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias area just the opposite, and is near of Aqua another shopping mall of Valencia. This shopping mall is very similar to Nuevo Centro because have the same shops and the same restaurants and bars but it has a cinema and is smaller than Nuevo Centro. His construction is very similar to the other.
- Aqua: is located in the other side of the river, in front of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. This space has 3 spaces in 1 because you can find all that you want in this shopping mall. There is five floors and his shops are divided in this floors according to the theme :
In the ground floor you can find all about home and travels and a supermarket.
The floor which is at the same level of street and the first floor are dedicated to clothes shops, the same as the other shopping malls.
The second and the third floors are dedicated to leisure and catering. And this floors you can a big variety of restaurants and also a bowling and a cinema.
The last floor you can find a wellness center.
But, this is only the shopping mall, and then you can see also a hotel and an office building and all this can be seen at the same place.
- Galería Don Juan de Austria: A small gallery in the centre, just off Plaza del Ayntamento. This is a more upmarket, expensive shopping. The promenade in front of it is also packed with shops, so alltogether you could have enough shops here to suit a shopping mall.
- Galería Jorge Juan: this is another gallery in the city center with a lot of luxury shops.
Street Shopping
Street areas for shopping in the city center are Calle Jorge Juan, Calle Colon, Calle don Juan Austria and the other streets between them. In this area you can buy jewelry, expensive clothes, shoes, perfumes, electronic shops, and department stores like El Corte Inglés.
El Corte Inglés: El Corte Ingles is the most well known department store in Spain. They sell absolutely everything, from clothes to furniture, from books to electronics. All of the stores also have a supermarket. His prices are a bit expensive.
Fnac: is a megastore specializing in books, music, movies, computer games, etc. Perhaps not the cheapest, but very reasonable, and sure to have whatever you are looking for. One-stop for books. In Valencia there are three in de city center, another in the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias and also other in Nuevo Centro.
Markets
You could also try the markets. Again, the cheap prices will reflect originality and/or quailty of items. The markets are often full of stalls and stalls selling practically identical things.
