The Ronald Coase Institute

Workshop in Institutional Analysis

September 10 - 15, 2001 Berkeley, California, USA

Attend a week-long workshop by the Ronald Coase Institute on how to do empirical analysis of institutions. This is a unique opportunity to present your research and get comments and suggestions from leading scholars in institutional analysis.

As a participant in this workshop, you will:

1. Hear eminent scholars talk about their strategies in formulating research questions, designing research projects, and drawing important and practical conclusions.

2. Make two presentations of your own research. The first will be in a small seminar with specialized experts in the field, the second - after revisions - to the entire workshop.

3. Attend the annual meeting of the International Society for New Institutional Economics (ISNIE). For more details on ISNIE, visit www.isnie.org

The Ronald Coase Institute encourages careful and useful analysis of the institutions that govern real economies and raise transaction costs. Its mission is to better understand how real economic systems work so that individuals and societies have greater opportunities to improve their well-being.

Attendance will be strictly limited. Participants will be selected on the basis of their research abstracts.

The workshop fee is $200 USD, which includes ISNIE membership and conference fees. This does not include room, board, or travel expenses. Fellowships may be available for participants from developing and transitional countries.
