The director of the Chair for the Transformation of the Economic Model: Circular Economy in the Water Sector of the Valencian Government and the Universitat de València, Francesc Hernández, has taken part in the awareness campaign against climate change with the slogan ‘Act’, developed by the Metropolitan Entity for Hydraulic Services (EMSHI) on the occasion of the international day celebrated on 21 October.
The expert explained that the main problem of climate change is the current throwaway model and said that, although climate change is a challenge, we all have the tools to face it.
The full university professor also stated that climate change “makes us realise that water is a limited resource, much more than we could have expected”, and therefore advocated for the reuse of water because “the throwaway model generates problems”.
Hernández also defended that “education in schools is fundamental so that the new generations do not have to be convinced and come already convinced”.
