IV Conference on Social Responsibility and Economy for the Common Good in Financial Institutions

The IV Conference on Social Responsibility and Economy of the Common Good in Financial Institutions will take place next Thursday 18th October in the Assembly Hall of the Gregorio Maians Library of Universitat de València (Tarongers Campus) organised by the Chair for Economy for the Common Good (CATEBC) of Universitat de València and sponsored by the Department of Transparency, Social Responsibility, Participation and Cooperation of the Government of the Valencian Community.

The conference will be inaugurated by Mª Dolores Real, Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer of Universitat de València; Josep Ochoa Monzó, General Director of Social Responsibility and Promotion of Self-government of the Government of the Valencian Community; and Francisco Álvarez, General Director of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism of the Government of the Valencian Community.

Guide

The first scheduled activity will be led by the Director of the EBC Chair, Joan Ramon Sanchis, who will make a public presentation of the Guide to Ethical, Social and Local Finance of the Valencian Community, a guide that contains detailed information on banks that operate with ethical values and social environmental criteria in the Valencian Community. Afterwards, Hervé Falciani, strategic project advisor, global anti-fraud icon and President of Tactical Whistleblower (Taboow.org), will give a conference on security, responsibility and respect for legality in digital finance and will present his anti-fraud project applied to cryptocurrencies.

After a break, the IV Conference on Social Responsibility and Economy for the Common Good in Financial Institutions will continue with the conference “The collapse of microcredits in development cooperation” with Carlos Gómez, professor at the University of Alacant and a round table “CSR in banking and Economy for the Common Good” with the participation of representatives of entities such as RSE and RRHH Ética Patrimonis, Xarxa Enclau, Banca Armada and the Association of Credit Corporations and Caja Rural Central.

The closing ceremony will be attended by José Manuel Pastor, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Universitat de València; María Amigo, President of the Valencian Association for the Promotion of the Economy for the Common Good; and Joan Ramon Sanchis, Director of the EBC Chair at Universitat de València.
