The EBC Chair participates in the Conference on the Economy for the Common Good in Villena

On Tuesday 13th November, the first conference on the Economy for the Common Good (EBC), “Ethics as the engine of our economy”, will take place in Villena. The event will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Casa de Cultura and the star speaker will be the internationally renowned Christian Felber.

The conference opens at 5:00 hours with the Mayor of Villena, Francisco Javier Esquembre, together with the Director of the EBC Chair of Universitat de València, Joan Ramón Sanchís. Sanchís himself will open with the first talk entitled “The future of the economy, social and environmental values”.

This will be followed by a round table of experiences to learn about practical cases of companies that are carrying out an economy for the common good, moderated by Miguel Ribera, a consultant for EBC companies. There, the balance of the common good in the city of Villena will be presented, with the objectives and the path that our city is taking towards this new form of economic and social development.

The second part of the conference will open with the keynote speech by Christian Felber as an international promoter of the Economy for the Common Good. He is a renowned speaker, professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and co-founder of Attac Austria. Felber studied psychology, sociology and political science in Madrid and Vienna and is the author of numerous best-selling books.

The conference will be closed by the Minister for Sustainable Economy, Rafael Climent, who together with the Mayor and Felber will give a press conference before the conference in the Mayor’s office where the Austrian writer will be invited to sign the city’s Book of Honour.
