The Chair for the Economy for the Common Good, together with the Association Sol Economías Biomediterráneas organise the conference: “Moving forward together towards a new economy: New exchange systems” that will be held on 24 May at the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Universitat de València.
The conference focuses on social and contemporary community currencies as a powerful tool for socio-economic and agro-environmental transformation, promoting social change in favour of sustainable development.
This event will be inaugurated by Francisco Álvarez, General Director of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism of the Government of the Valencian Community; Mª Dolores Real, Vice-principal for Innovation and Transfer at Universitat de València and Mª Mercedes Ortiz, Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Alacant.
Throughout the conference, projects such as the EKHILUR Cooperative and the SOL-PHOENIX Association will be presented, as well as two case studies on the implementation of community currencies in Barcelona and Seville.
