Publication of the first empirical article on the Economy for the Common Good in the international journal Sustainability

The team of researchers of the Chair for Economy for the Common Good of Universitat de València published, together with the creator of the model Christian Felber, the first empirical article on the Economy for the Common Good in the international journal Sustainability, a journal with an impact factor of 2592 in the JCR and specialised in sustainability and sustainable development.

Regarding the measurement of organisational performance, there is a growing concern for the creation of value for people, society and the environment. Traditional corporate reporting does not adequately meet the information needs of stakeholders to assess a company’s potential performance and future. In this regard, practitioners and specialists have developed new non-financial reporting frameworks from a social and environmental perspective, giving birth to the field of Integrated Reporting. The Economy for the Common Good model and its tools for facilitating sustainability management and governance can provide a framework for doing so.

The study describes the theoretical underpinnings of the business management field research on which the CBE model is based. Moreover, this work is the first to empirically validate these measurement scales and is, therefore, the first quantified investigation of the CBE model in a sample of 206 European companies.
