The meeting point between the best academics and podcasters of the moment
The actual media is characterised by hyperconnectivity, proliferation of smart devices and the impact of artificial intelligence, and in this environment, the podcast has established itself as a central format in the processes of creation, circulation and consumption of sound contents. In this context, the Congress INNOCAST 2025 is an space for reflection and academic exchange oriented towards analysing the innovative perspectives of podcasting and its future projection from an interdisciplinary focus. The aim of the meeting is to contribute to the study of podcast as a medium of growing relevance in the communicative, educational, cultural and technological fields, dealing with its theoretical and practical implications, as well as its challenges and opportunities in a media environment which is in constant change.
Thematic lines
- Podcast, higher education and training processes
This thematic line intends to review the role of podcast as a pedagogic resource and as an institutional communication tool in the educational field. In this thematic line, they include research on teaching methodologies based on the podcast, its contribution to active and collaborative learning, the developing of communication skills, as well as case studies of production and the circulation of podcast in university and school contexts, including its connection with the evolution of university radio.
- Podcast, artificial intelligence and future challenges
You are invited to submit papers analysing how the podcast adapts to technological, economic, and social transformations. Topics of interest include the evolution of the format, videopodcasts, sustainability and monetization models, forms of interactivity, audience studies and, notably, the impact of artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data on production, distribution and consumption processes.
- Historia y evolución de la radio y el pódcast
This thematic line focuses on historic and comparative studies that deal with the trajectory of radio and the development of podcast. Research is contemplated on relevant milestones, transformations of content, processes of media convergence, and the analysis of the role of these formats in different social and cultural contexts.

Participants must send a Word document with the following information:
- Name and surnames of the author(s)
- Institutional affiliation
- Title of the paper
- Abstract (300 words)
- Thematic areas
- If the delivery will be face-to-face or online
Option for the publication of full texts:
- Minutes book that will be published on institutional repositories (Roderic and Dialnet) with a doi identificator.
- Option for publication in the monograph “LA RADIO EN TRANSFORMACIÓN: PERSPECTIVAS Y RETOS CONTEMPORÁNEOS”, coordinated by professors Carlos López Olano (UV), Andrej Brník (UCM de Trnava, Slovakia) and Ľubica Janáčková (Univ. Ss Cyril, Slovakia) of the Revista indexada de la Sociedad Española de Periodística (SEP) Textual and Visual Media. The delivery will be done through the journal’s platform and will be subjected to the usual double-blind peer review and editing process. The delivery period is open until 13 March.
In case of the first option (minutes book), the complete texts will be send to the same email until 30 January 2026. The texts will be between 5,000 and 7,000 words long.
The papers will be delivered on-site at the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication of the Universitat de València or on-line on Thursday 11 December 2025 (hour to be confirmed).
The fee for the presentation of communication is € 30 per participant. Each participant can send up to three papers.
