The Universitat de València Chair organises the event in collaboration with: Chair of Physical Activity and Oncology ‘José Soriano Ramos Foundation’ (UJI), Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Physical Exercise and Quality of Life for Oncological Population Network (REFICON), and La Fe IIS.
Exercise, as well as for the 1st National sports Meeting for Oncological Population, an event gathering researchers, health professionals, students and patients for the latests advancements on the role sports play in oncology. The event will take place from 20 to 22 November 2025.
The congress is organised by UJI and José Soriano Ramos Foundation Chair of Physical Activity and Oncology, REFICON and UV Chair of Physical Exercise and Childhood Cancer. After its first edition success, the congress returns with a high level scientific programme with national and international experts.
The highlight is on the opening conference by President of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology Dr. César A. Rodríguez Sánchez, and participation of international speakers such as University of Bonn Institute of Molecular Medicine & Esperimental Immunology Dr. Natalio García-Garbí. In addition to address topics like the physiological mechanisms of oncological practice and programmes of physical activity during the different phases of cancer treatment, another topic will be physical exercise in childhood cancer.
The scientific event will close with a complete and interesting sports encounter of national level for oncological population, with competitions like a cross-running 4K or a Dragon-boat regatta, practical and dissemination workshops, a solidary concert and a paella to end he encounter of science, health and coexistence. The double aspect of this congress turns it into an intersection unique to Spain, promoting research, clinical practice and social commitment to improve the cancer patients quality of life.
