On Sunday June 26th at 1.30 p.m. the book ‘Històries originals de la vida real’ by Mary Wollstonecraft will be presented. The event, which will take place in the Veles e Vents promenade of the Marina de València, will be presented by Manolo Gil, journalist and editor; and Carme Manuel, author of this edition.

"Històries originals de la vida real” (Valencian for the original title, Original Stories from Real Life) is an instruction book to turn young readers into virtuous citizens of the res publica. Wollstonecraft breaks with the myth of the perfect mother, condemns the essentialism of women as instinctive and natural mothers, and enthroned the figure of the mentor as a guide for ethical growth of young girls. “Lliçons per a Fanny” (Valencian for Lessons for Fanny) returns to the mother as the primary educator of daughters and closes a circle in which both mothers and those who can act as mothers are singled out not as nurturers, but as fundamental educators of the women of the new generations.
