Inclusive and sustained economic growth drives progress, creates quality jobs and improves living standards, spreading wealth and opportunities more equitably. Knowing the current economic situation, forecasting how it will evolve in the short and medium term and analysing the effects this has in relation to the evolution of inequalities (gender, intergenerational or wealth distribution), opportunities (at school or in the labour market) or the environmental quality of the surroundings allows us to offer a more holistic vision of growth.

The aim of the First Conference on Sustainable Economics and Economic Forecasting is to introduce society as a whole and the academic community to some of the research and methodological developments that are being carried out within the framework of the agreement signed between the Regional Department of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labour and the Universitat de València for the development of macroeconomic forecasts of the Valencian economy.
