The Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society, and in close collaboration with the Cofrentes City Council, the Valencian Provincial Council and Caixa Popular, are organising the 3rd Edition of the Cofrentes Autumn University (UNICO). This year, under the title: “Longevity and well-being in rural areas”.

The increasing longevity of the population is a challenge for individuals, families and institutions, and facing it in the rural environment is an additional challenge, but at the same time, it allows to show the possibilities of achieving an optimal quality of life throughout life and to value the particular characteristics of a privileged territory.

The UNICO will become, on 26 October, a unique meeting place for teachers, researchers, students, social actors, public and private workers and all the residents of Cofrentes and the surrounding area, in which various questions about well-being, at an individual and social level, in rural areas will be addressed. UNICO is an informative initiative, open to the general public, which aims to bring Cofrentes and its region closer to the main challenges of the 21st century faced by the ageing population. It will be attended by professors from the Universitat de València (experts in Nutrition and Bromatology, Physiology, Developmental Psychology and Education and Applied Economics) and a researcher from the CSIC (Spanish Research Council), expert in ageing.

Teaching, research and knowledge transfer are the fundamental pillars of university institutions. In this sense, the Universitat de València, faithful to its commitment to the territory and the local Valencian society, promotes this academic action that is consolidated in Cofrentes and in the Cofrentes-Ayora Valley. Enrolment is free of charge (Click here to register). Due to the public nature of the Universitat, those interested will be able to obtain a certificate of attendance.
