On Wednesday, January 29th, Family Business’ Chair at University of Valencia (CEF-UV), (promoted by Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs (AVE), School of Entrepreneurs (EDEM), Valencian Institute for the Study of Business Familiar (IVEFA) and Institute of Family Business (IEF), and currently sponsored of BANKIA and BROSETA ABOGADOS) has collaborated in the XIX UV Faculty of Economics’ Forum of Employment and Entrepreneurship.

This forum aims to establish a meeting point between the Faculty of Economics, companies and institutions, and university students and graduates, promoting youth employability, insertion and direct contact with job market.

Family Business’ Chair has organized a session entitled "Keys to Success and Professional Development in Family Business" attended by more than 150 students and professionals. This year, the Chair has invited two former graduates who work for highly competitive Family Businesses: Marta Beltrán (GMM Holding Company) and Marta Bertomeu (Vicky Foods). Both have transmitted their experience to the attendees.

They have highlighted the importance that human capital has in Family Business, the connection between property and employees, the identity of the company: "You feel like part of the company", according to Marta Bertomeu. Involvement, responsibility and trust are developed each day, "they select you for the title, but they value your personality" said Marta Beltrán.

The conclusions, according to the director of the Chair Alejandro Escribá, have been:

  • Long-term view.
  • Identity, everyone feels part of the company.
  • Legacy for the next generations.
  • Improve corporate governance and its structures.
  • Keep talent within the company, care human capital.
