On Friday, November 27, sessions 3 and 4 of the Family Business Employability Course were held organized by the Chair of Family Business of the University of Valencia.

Pilar González (Professor of Psychology at the UV) and Victoria Casañ (Human Resources of Grefusa) were in charge of giving these sessions.

Pilar González teaches in the areas of Social Psychology and Labour Psychology and Organizations of the University of Valencia and participates in research projects.

Victoria Casañ currently holds the role of Head of People and Internal Communication in Grefusa, uniting business strategy and people.

"Values, attitudes and useful competencies in the Family Business" was the title of the session given by Pilar González. The session began with Pilar motivating students to show up in front of the rest of the attendees with the aim of exposing their links and motivations to both the course and the Family Business.

"Family Business are values, they are interpersonal relationships, and this is something that we must always remember"

Pilar González

Pilar also exposed those 3 components that define attitudes, cognitive, affective and volitive components; and each of the components were related to one of the sessions of the Employability Course, showing attendees that during the course all the components that surround the attitude will be present.

At the end of his session, Pilar ended up mentioning employability and its indicators, including individual factors, personal circumstances and external factors.

For her part, Victoria Casañ raised a very dynamic and positive session under the title "The Perspective of the Employer".First, Victoria began by telling her experiences in the world of work when she went from working in a multinational non-family company like Deloitte, to working at Grefusa, a Valencian family business.

Subsequently, Victoria mentioned the 7 values available to all Grefusa workers, pposing that: "Our way of relating is very marked by the transmission of the values that are instilled in us."

"Closeness to the worker is key for us, we get it through activities such as paddle tournaments, running runs and workshops for the children of employees..."

Victoria Casañ

To log out, Victoria exposed all the information and benefits of the company's Young Talent Recruitment Program by encouraging course attendees to participate.

Next Friday we will have Carlos Ochoa (Partner Commercial Law Area of Broseta Abogados) and Pilar González (Professor of UV Psychology) to tell us about "Understanding the legal particularities of the Family Business" and "Strategies of Mediation and Conflict Management in the Family Company"
