This is how the 1st session of the Family Business course with Alejandro Escribá concureded

Last Monday, June 14, the first introductory session of the Family Business Course: Key aspects for its competitiveness and durability (13th Edition) was given by Alejandro Escribá. Director of the Chair of Family Business, Professor of the UV and researcher of the IVIE.

Professor Escribá began by presenting the Chair of Family Business, its mission to contribute to the improvement of competitiveness and the chances of success and long-term durability of family businesses, as well as its value proposition "We intend to build a solid long-term project based on the development of research that feeds the activities of cefuv". He also explained the three pillars of the CEFUV: teaching, dissemination and transfer. He emphasized the support that the Chair receives from its promoters: the Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs (AVE), the School of Entrepreneurs (EDEM), the Valencian Institute for the Study of Family Business (IVEFA), the Institute of Family Business (IEF), the University of Valencia (UV); and sponsors: Broseta and CaixaBank.

During the session, Professor Escribá presented the concepts of Family Business, highlighting the importance of Family Businesses in the socio-economic context, "Family Businesses generate 57% of gross value added (BV), and 66% of employment in Spain".

The session concluded with a debate on the roles and aspects of the most relevant agents (Family, Property, Government and Management) in the Family Business.

The course will continue this Friday, June 18, when Juan Vicente Tamarit (Director of Aldebarán Projects) and Pascual Fernández (Professor of Civil Law at the Universitat de València) will talk about the "Development of the professional career in Family Businesses" and the "Civil Aspects of Family Business".
