From end of year 1991 I have been working on tasks related to
technical assistance to Dirección
General de Tráfico (Spanish Traffic Road Administration) in
ITS European project.
Main activities were related ARTS and SERTI euro-regional projects.
They were integrated after year 2007 in EasyWay umbrella and
afterwards in the European ITS Platform (EIP)
Currently ITS has became C-ITS (connected vehicle) where is
necessary the collaboration between vehicles (V2V) and between
vehicles and the road (V2I). This is known as V2X and the road
administrations will be important if they are able to provide
traffic management policies to service operators.
Now, I am following all these activities from the point of view of Basque Government Traffic
Directorate.
