Institutional organization and change
in policy governance

ADDRESSED TO :
Post-graduate students,
personnel from Public Administrations, as well as other professionals who like
to improve their knowledge on how are public affaires organized in democratic
societies and how those organizational arrangements affect performance.
Special attention will be
paid to the Spanish case addressing both the institutional organization of
governmental tasks implemented since democratic transition and the organization
of social intervention through governmental agencies in social welfare and
care, education and health. Some organizational solutions implemented in other
countries such as United Kingdom, France, USA, as well as in some Latinamerican
countries will be discussed.
Speakers share the common
background of ideas and methods that are being promoted through the
interdisciplinary Society for the New Institutional Economics that was founded,
among others, by the Nobel laureates in Economics Ronald Coase and Douglass
North.
The opening lecture will be delivered by Prof. Thrainn Eggertsson, an
outstanding new institutionalist whose book "Economic Behavior and Institutions"
has been translated to many languages, including the Spanish one.
The ending lecture will be delivered by Prof. Claude Menard, ex -
President of ISNIE and Director of the ATOM center.
