Audio-visual Mediation Workshop ‘Las capas de la memoria’ (the layers of memory)

Call aimed at UV students (open from 10 to 20 April 2025)

The Cinema Club of the Universitat de València, along with the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain, calls for UV students in 3rd and 4th year of Audiovisual Communication, Sociology, Journalism and Art History amongst other degrees to participate in the free workshop ‘Las capas de la memoria’.

The workshop will take place from 5 May to 19 June 2025 combining on-site sessions in designated UV spaces and in the field labs of the project  ‘Salvemos las fotos’ (Let’s save the photos) such as Torrent o Alaquàs, as well as online tutoring. This activity is part of the ‘Campus de Verano de la Academia de Cine’ (Academy of Cinema Summer Campus) and suggests the UV students to look into the use of audio-visual language as a social tool useful to approach the graphic materials affected and rescued after the Dana of 2024 through the project ‘Salvemos las fotos’, lead by UV Heritage. The designated people will create audio-visual works, supervised by renowned directors of documentary films Nuria Giménez Lorang and Sergio Oksman.

The call will remain open from 10 to 20 April 2025. The application form will be submitted with a little curricular profile and a motivation letter, having priority the applications from UV students residing in the zones affected by the Dana.
