With the “Muchas y diversas: las mujeres de las series y el cine” webinar, Film Historian and Art History UV Professor Áurea Ortiz will address gender violence in current films and TV series by analysing the treatment of women as victims in such entertainment media, sexual violence, abuse or the female body as pretext for fiction narrative in works such as The Handmaid’s Tale, Marshland, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, La Caza. Monteperdido, Mindhunter or Big Little Lies, among others. The session will be presented by Director of the UV University Culture Service Adela Cortijo.
